The Life of a Business Card
The other day I was thinking about these little cards I keep because they're too nice to throw away. There's even a drawer full of business cards that my husband has collected that he can't seem to part with either.
This got me to thinking. Why not create a business card that people will save, share, and look at more then once?
You know you have a whole backside of that there business card to use. Place something unique on the back, people will not only keep the card, they'll share it with friends!
Here's a few ideas to get you started.
Riddles - jokes - puzzling pictures - hot quick tips on, gardening, cleaning, or anything that will appeal to your type of people. 5 hot website URLs that target your market, a beautiful picture of flowers, wildlife, etc.
Test your ideas out, see which card creates the most interest. Get your friends and family to see which one they like. Test, test, test.
When you have a winner, laminate it! Give that card to everyone. Take it to parties, business events, and whenever you have the opportunity, show off your very cool-creative & unique business card.
Remember to promote your business offline as well as online. :-)
It seems like nothing fly's faster on the net then a good joke. My online buddies are always forwarding me emails with blonde jokes, husband/wife jokes...and so forth. With that in mind, I decided to put something funny on the back of my new business cards.
Here's a few websites I found helpful.
http://www.comics.com. http://www.amused.com http://www.csd.uu.se/~d94her/calvin (Calvin & Hobbes)
Target your audience. Leave them hanging. Tell the first joke, but on the second leave the pun line at your website. Make them want MORE.
There are so many ways you can get creative with these little cards. You know how popular freebies are online. Place a cool freebie on the back of your card. Something like this: "I earn 10% profits just be telling people about freebies! Email Me:chrisi@netwoozy.com?subject=Freebies_Info"
Or how about this approach: "Put anything you like on a T-shirt, mug, or mouse pad!" Email me for details. mailto:chrisi@netwoozy.com?subject=T-Shirts_Info
Remember these two points when you create your card. A. Your business card needs to have something unique on the back so that people will save or share it. B. Your goal is to get people to go to your website. Lure them. Give them the bait. But don't let them HAVE it unless they visit your website.
